Important Information Regarding Walton Procedures this Summer

All Cobb County Schools are closed until further notice due to Covid-19

RECORDS ROOM

This summer, the Records Room will be operating virtually due to Covid-19.  Please email the completed county form, JR-3 and the picture ID of the enrolling adult for minor students or for the student, if age 18 or over to Kim.Gibson@cobbk12.org for assistance during the summer.  Please allow up to 48 hours processing time.

TRANSCRIPTS

A copy of the unofficial transcript was mailed home in report card envelopes to current 9th-12th grade students.  Due to school’s being closed, additional transcript requests are to be submitted by emailing the completed county form, JR-3 with the photo ID of the student (age 18 or older) or enrolling adult of minor student to Kim.Gibson@cobbk12.org.  At this time, Walton has waived the transcript fee.  Please allow up to 48 hours processing time.

For students who graduated in 2018 or before, transcript and other records requests must be submitted online through the school district.  Visit www.cobbk12.org, click on the “Parent Tab,” then “Resources (Cont.)” for “Student Records and Transcripts.”

REGISTRATION

Registration appointments are available online through Zoom since Walton is unable to accept walk-in registrations. Visit www.waltonhigh.org, click “General Information”, then “Enrollment” for the required documents to enroll your student.  It is important to note that during this time of Covid-19, at least one proof of residence is required to schedule an enrollment appointment time.  After you have scheduled the appointment, a counselor will contact you with the Zoom meeting code and further instructions as confirmation of your appointment.

CERTIFICATE OF ENROLLMENT

To obtain a driver’s license or learner's permit during the summer, the Department of Drivers’ Services has suspended the Certificate of Enrollment form until fall semester.  In place of the Certificate of Enrollment, DDS will accept a copy of students’ unofficial transcripts or report cards reflecting the students’ names and Walton High School as their attending school.

SCHEDULE CONCERNS

A list of the students’ requested courses for the 2020-21 school year will be mailed with the report card and unofficial transcript to the home address on file.  The Master schedule was created based upon these requests. Any requests for schedule changes must be completed through the online waiver form process noted in the course letter between May 27th and June 5th. Email or phone requests will not be honored. Waiver requests will be considered based on the course availability in the Master Schedule and changes are not guaranteed.

SENIOR TRANSCRIPTS

College/NCAA – transcripts were sent electronically to the colleges listed in Naviance under “Attending Colleges” as well as to the additional schools/institutions requested directly to Ms. Schrenk. Final unofficial transcripts were also mailed with the report card to home addresses on file.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards were mailed home with unofficial transcripts.
